Default Update Suggestion: More Ways to Spend Balth Faction

This is continued from:
This Thread

I know this has been talked about before but I think it needs to be covered again, since ANET isn't hearing us, especially now that faction gain has been RE-doubled.

We already have another worthwhile use for Balth faction - unlocking skills for heros.

Well the point is what happens after you've unlocked 100% of all skills and items.

A lot of us already have and NF has only been out for a little while.

Yea, extra Balth Factions in pvp like extra skill points in pve have no ways to spend them. It's hard to find sensible ways to spend them without some ppl complaining though. Gold is valued in pve and fame is valued in pvp. So it makes sense allowing extra skill pts to be exchanged for gold in pve and extra balth factions to be exchanged for fame in pvp. But a lot of ppl would object so it's a no-win situation currently.

If we allow the exchange of 2k Balth faction/per fame pt, and if all ppl do is to farm 2k Balth faction each day, it would take them 6 mo to reach r3. So it's not gonna cheapen fame system much. If it does, you can always up the exchange rate. It would also benefit players who do gvg primarily, and break monopoly HA has on fame. But I bet many hardcores would object. So, well...

Do you remember PvP when Guild Wars first existed? Balthazar's Faction was non-existant. They added it a few months later as a bonus for those who needed to unlock more skills and weapon mods. Once all skills and mods are unlocked, it no longer has a use. That is because the only use they made it for was unlocking. It isn't a reward, just a bonus. Be glad it even exists, as before you would have to play through the game until you got to a town with the skill you wanted, then pay 1k and a skill point per skill. It is already fulfilling its purpose. It is fine as it is. Once you have fully unlocked everything you no longer need it. Here's an idea: after you have unlocked every skill in the game, have it stop giving you faction instead. After all, it is only meant to be for those who havn't unlocked everything.

You could make that argument about anything in the game that wasn't present on the first day of release... It's just a bonus so don't talk about it.

But I think it's pretty clear that balth's faction has become more than that.

It adds to the PVP experience by giving extra value to every kill, win and streak.

It's used as a way to determine experience in PVP. Some guilds recruit only players that have X, or more, Balth faction, for instance.

Most importantly, aside from the HA chest and titles it's the only reward in PVP.
